China and Environmental Challenge Up in the Air
By Lance Winslow
China is rapidly surpassing many other nations and on its way to be the dominate country on Earth. In fact many who are bank rolling its future are counting the Return on Investment. But as great as their growth has been it is not without problems and growing pains, as any fast advancing nation can attest too. One of the largest challenges they are working through is the environmental issues and challenges. One online think tank had a guest come in and they stated;
“This could poison the entire world if the US hadn't started the process already. If China has UNRESTRICTED automobile use (SUV's!) and emissions, the entire country will resemble L.A.”
Actually LA is not as bad as it was in 1975 or so and the US over all is pretty good considering Beijing, Shanghai, Mexico City and so many other places in the World. China is pledging to clean up its act. I would like to see this come to fruition, I hope they do as they are saying, that would be very nice indeed. We shall see, but I am not going to hold my breath now for fear I may need to hold it later?
The incredible rapid advances in China’s industrial growth has caused issues with air pollution, water pollution and oceanic dead zones. China is addressing these issues and attempting to move the ball forward faster and faster, not an easy juggling act by any means, as China’s Environmental Challenge is still “Up In The Air!” Consider all this in 2006.
